A cognitive bias is the error in general thinking or perceiving the things around them, which affects decisions and judgements. Biases can be due to either memory problems or lack of attention. Bias should not be confused with logical fallacies. Logical fallacies are caused by errors in logical arguments, whereas biases are problems due to problems in thought processing.
